POSITION SUMMARY

The Memory Care Life Enrichment Assistant supports the development, planning, scheduling, and facilitation of programs that promote the various dimensions of wellness. This position works closely with the Memory Care team to provide activities that are appropriate for residents’ abilities, interests, preferences, and individual needs. The ideal candidate is creative, patient, and enthusiastic about working with older adults and enjoys finding new ways to encourage participation, connection, and engagement.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES

Plan and lead a variety of engaging programs, including arts and crafts, entertainment, social events, brain games, and other cognitive activities. Create and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly activity calendars and schedules. Assist with gathering information, articles, photos, and resident highlights for the Memory Care newsletter. Maintain an organized supply of activity materials, books, puzzles, magazines, games, and other resources. Introduce residents to appropriate technology programs and provide guidance and support as needed. Train and support care staff in activity-related programs and ways to encourage resident participation. Work collaboratively with the Memory Care team to adapt activities based on resident abilities, interests, and needs. Continuously develop new ideas and opportunities for meaningful engagement in the Memory Care neighborhood. Encourage participation while respecting each resident’s preferences, abilities, and comfort level. Maintain a positive, supportive, and engaging environment for residents. Attend required meetings, training, and educational sessions. Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum of 2 years of experience in activities, life enrichment, recreation, teaching, or a related field preferred. Previous experience working with seniors, particularly individuals living with dementia, preferred. Genuine passion for working with older adults and creating meaningful experiences. Creative, energetic, patient, and comfortable leading both group and individual activities. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to speak, read, and write English effectively. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, and Adobe products. Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple activities and schedules. Ability to work cooperatively with residents, families, caregivers, and other team members. Flexible and willing to participate in special events and activities as needed.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS / WORKING CONDITIONS

Ability to work both indoors and outdoors as needed. Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday. Ability to frequently bend, stoop, reach, and balance. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds independently . Ability to safely move throughout the community and participate in resident activities. Ability to work in a dynamic environment with frequent interaction with residents, families, visitors, and team members.
