Aerial Telecom Lineman – Crossville, TN Responsible for performing skilled aerial line construction and maintenance work for telecom infrastructure, ensuring safe and efficient installation while adhering to industry standards and client specifications. The Lineman serves as the lead technician on aerial construction sites, directing groundmen and taking responsibility for overall work quality and crew safety. Responsibilities Execute aerial construction activities including pole climbing, equipment installation, and cable placement according to specifications and safety protocols. Lead and direct groundmen in supporting aerial work operations. Interpret and follow construction plans, blueprints, and design maps. Operate utility trucks, bucket trucks, and specialized equipment such as tensioners and cable pullers. Ensure proper installation according to National Electrical Safety Code (NESC) standards and industry practices. Identify and resolve field issues during construction activities. Perform quality checks of completed work to ensure compliance with client specifications. Document work progress, material usage, and any field challenges. Maintain strict adherence to safety protocols and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Set up appropriate traffic control and work zone safety measures. Train and mentor groundmen in proper techniques and safety practices.
