Pediatric Hospitalist Opportunity

Opening for a Pediatric Hospitalist -- Hospital employed position -- Will work off of 2 other pediatric hospitalists -- 8 hours in-house per day (8:30 AM - 4:30 PM) -- 24/7 coverage with 16 hours of on-call responsibilities -- Typical census: 8-15 newborns per day and 0-2 pediatric patients per day -- Call responsibilities include: Nurse phone consultations, potential admissions from the ED, and attending high-risk deliveries or stabilizing sick newborns (calls come from nurses and/or ER doctors NOT from parents) -- APRN support is provided Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday mornings, especially when census is highest. -- CRNA is available 24/7 for epidurals and urgent/emergent C-sections. -- The nursery, labor & delivery, postpartum unit, and pediatrics are located conveniently on the same floor. -- 90% of inpatient duties involve managing newborns, including nursery coverage. -- 10% of duties involve managing straightforward pediatric admissions such as basic ENT cases. -- No complex subspecialty care or PICU-level cases. -- Procedures include: Circumcisions, emergency CPAP management, frenotomies, and excision of simple polydactyly. Rare emergency procedures such as intubation, needle decompression of pneumothorax, and UVC placement. -- Must attend C-sections and attend deliveries -- Position focus is on well baby nursery with limited NICU coverage Schedule is flexible amongst the providers but will look something like 5on/7off, 7on/7off, repeat -- No after-hours/night call -- Sign-on Bonus: $25k+ sign-on bonus to assist with the transition. -- Competitive Compensation: Shift-based Compensation (typically MGMA median equates to 255-270k+/- annually). -- Comprehensive Benefits: Health, dental, & vision; supplemental insurance options (short/long-term disability, accidental, cancer, life); retirement plans with employer match. -- Student Loan Repayment: Eligible for loan repayment assistance through the PSLF program, helping to manage and reduce student debt. -- CME Allowances: $3k a year -- Malpractice Insurance/Tail Coverage
