HVAC Truck Based Chiller Journeyman Mechanic (union)

Responsibilities Provide the highest level of service to solve facility inefficiencies and resolve service‑related items. Act as a trusted advisor to customers, providing solutions and outcomes at the time of commissioning and aftermarket service. Recommend and implement solutions to ensure facilities run efficiently, including upselling opportunities. Prepare quotes to support recommendations and solutions. Perform startup, commissioning, troubleshooting, and aftermarket services for residential and/or ducted products, air‑cooled and/or water‑cooled chillers, AHUs, or roof‑top ducted units. Repair centrifugal compressors, steam turbines, screw chillers system components. Travel up to 20% to support branch customers for startup, commissioning and troubleshooting. Pass a knowledge examination to assess proficiencies. Enroll in training programs and JCI’s Service Technical Academy (STA) to gain knowledge in HVAC products and sales quoting. Qualifications Must be a member or willing to join the United Association of Journeymen and Apprentices of the Plumbing and Pipe Fitting Industry of the United States and Canada, AFL‑CIO. Minimum of three (3) years of practical experience on residential and/or ducted products, air‑cooled and/or water‑cooled chillers, AHUs or roof‑top ducted units with strong HVAC/mechanical troubleshooting experience. Ability to repair centrifugal compressors, steam turbines, screw chillers system components. Self‑starter with a passion/desire to learn and apply on the job. Strong attention to detail through interpersonal, digital, and written skills. Ability to write and communicate to customers problem, cause, and corrective actions. Ability to provide quotes to customers and participate in JCI’s Service Plus Rewards program. Prioritize safety in all forms. Universal EPA refrigerants license, applicable state or local licensing, and valid driver’s license. Benefits and Compensation This is a Bargaining Unit Position. Pay Range: $46.23 per hour determined by the CBA/rate sheet. Benefits are provided through a local labor union aligned with a collective bargaining agreement.
