Radiologic Technologist - Radiology Diagnostic - Emergency Department Expansion - Multiple Shifts

Pay range: $27.00 - $43.01 / hour

Shifts: full-time AM and PM, weekend AM

Schedules: 7 a.m.-7 p.m.

Job Highlights

We are expanding our Emergency Department (ED) at UAB Hospital, Alabama’s first ACS-verified Level I Adult Trauma Center, and we’re hiring additional team members. As one of the largest emergency departments in the country, this expansion will include 115+ treatment and triage spaces, more than doubling our capacity as well as a 30-bed inpatient observation unit. The new space was designed with staff input and will have new equipment and features, including dedicated technology like CT scanners, X-ray machines, and echo ultrasound, along with a ceiling lift for bariatric patients, enhanced security, and a streamlined teleadmission process.

Job Description

Under the direction of a Radiologist and the Imaging Manager, to perform radiological procedures at the North Pavilion location. Radiologic technologists are responsible for performing high-quality diagnostic examinations in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment. This role supports trauma teams, emergency services, and multiple service lines by ensuring accurate imaging, patient safety, and timely communication of critical information. The technologist adheres to radiation safety standards, hospital policies, and regulatory requirements while providing compassionate, professional care to patients with complex and emergent conditions.

Qualifications

Graduate from a Radiography program accredited by a mechanism acceptable to the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) required. One (1) year experience in general radiography preferred. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement. Licenses / Certifications / Registrations Currently registered as a Registered Technologist (R.T.(ARRT)) by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) OR registered within one (1) year from date of hire for a new graduate required. Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association (AHA) is required or should be obtained within 30 days of employment.
