You will: Evaluate residents and develop effective treatment plans Provide occupational therapy services based on residents’ individual needs Review care plans and medical records to ensure appropriate treatment Complete required documentation, including daily notes, progress notes, discharge summaries, and billing Participate in discharge planning Collaborate with Physical Therapy, Speech Therapy, nursing, physicians, and other members of the healthcare team Participate in interdisciplinary and rehabilitation team meetings Provide education and training to facility staff Help ensure resident safety, dignity, rights, and confidentiality Supervise Occupational Therapy Assistants as assigned Help develop new therapy programs and services Maintain therapy equipment and ensure it is safe and functioning properly What We’re Looking For Required: Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy program Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in occupational therapy Current State of Maine licensure as an Occupational Therapist Strong communication, organization, time-management, and clinical decision-making skills Ability to work effectively with residents, families, and members of the healthcare team Preferred: Experience in a long-term care environment Make Your Work Matter At Maine Veterans’ Homes, you’re not simply providing therapy—you’re helping Veterans maintain their independence, participate in the activities that matter to them, and reach their individual goals.
