Job Summary
Emergency Room Nurse in Yakima, Washington. This position involves providing critical care in a busy Level III trauma center with a focus on high-acuity patients across diverse age groups, from neonates to geriatrics. The role requires quick decision-making, effective triage skills, and adaptability to a fast-paced environment.

Job Details

• Schedule: Nights shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week, start date 08/17/2026
• Required Qualifications: Valid ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS or ENPC, and TNCC certifications; minimum of 3 years of experience in a large volume emergency department with high acuity patient care; experience with barcode scanning medication administration, managing medication drips, blood product administration, triage testing, setting up chest tubes, art lines, trauma and code assistance, splinting, bipap/vent management, and a thorough understanding of Emergency Severity Index (ESI); pediatric emergency medicine experience preferred; experience with Point of Care Labs is a plus
• Patient Types: Neonate to geriatric, including pediatrics (medical and trauma), stroke (administration of TNK), cardiac (cath lab), behavioral health, and substance use disorder; care for high acuity patients in the busiest emergency department in the state, including transfers for neurosurgery, multisystem trauma, and high acuity pediatrics
• Patient Ratios: 1:3-5 depending on acuity; ER set up in zones with a green zone for fast track (13 beds)
• EMR: Epic (required)
• Float: No
• Weekend Rotation: Every other weekend, with rare back-to-back weekends, requiring flexibility
• Shift times: Nights, 7p-7a
• Scrub Color: Any, no logos
