About the Role

The Company is seeking a Vice President of Automation Engineering to lead the design and deployment of the technology foundation for a fully automated manufacturing facility. This executive will be responsible for strategic leadership, greenfield execution, and the integration of advanced manufacturing systems. The role involves overseeing a large team of multidisciplinary engineers and requires a visionary leader with a hands-on, technical background in mechanical machine building. The successful candidate will be tasked with setting a new global standard for aerospace production through the development of proprietary, large-scale 5-axis CNC equipment and autonomous manufacturing cells. Key responsibilities for the Vice President of Automation Engineering include partnering with executive leadership to define and execute the technology roadmap, owning capital project execution schedules and budgets, and aligning engineering efforts across multiple facilities. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in leading large technical teams, managing the ground-up design and deployment of custom machinery, and delivering large-scale automation projects. They should possess a Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, with a Master's degree preferred, and have in-depth knowledge of metallic machining mechanics, 5-axis CNC architectures, industrial robotics, and PLC/controls. The role also requires a leader with a low-ego, collaborative approach, and a strong focus on technical rigor, safety compliance, and continuous improvement.
