Mental Health WorkerExperienced and aspiring mental health professionals are encouraged to consider a part-time Mental Health Worker position with Liberty Healthcare.Liberty Healthcare operates a 10-bed acute psychiatric stabilization unit which serves adults who are justice-involved and experiencing acute mental illness. The unit admits and treats patients who are under the conditions of an involuntary civil commitment and provides individualized assessment and treatment interventions aimed at achieving psychiatric stability as soon as clinically appropriate. Services are trauma-informed and rooted in the recovery model.The unit is located onsite at the Maguire Correctional Facility - a San Mateo County jail located at 300 Bradford Street in Redwood City, CA 94063.As a Mental Health Worker, your responsibilities will include:Monitoring patient activity and behaviorDocumenting therapeutic interventions, observations, and treatment in medical recordsManaging aggressive patient behaviors through appropriate intervention techniquesPromoting a positive therapeutic milieuEstablishing therapeutic relationships with patientsCollaborating with other mental health professionals and jail security staffPay: $30.00 per hourWork schedule: This is a part-time position on the overnight shift. The specific work schedule for this position is 10:45 pm to 7:00 am. There is some flexibility to work one, two or a few days each week (depending on staffing needs and your availability).Qualifications:Experience supporting people who are experiencing mental illnessBachelor's degree in Psychology, Social Work, or a related human services field is preferredExperience working in a jail, prison, psychiatric hospital, mental health setting or human services program is preferredLiberty Healthcare is an equal opportunity employer committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
