Key Responsibilities

• Deliver coordinated nursing care for an assigned patient or group of patients in accordance with established standards of care and the nursing process
• Supervise and direct the activities of various levels of assigned nursing staff within the CVICU setting
• Coordinate patient care with other clinical disciplines utilizing critical thinking and independent judgment
• Provide post-operative open heart recovery care, including management of patients requiring intra-aortic balloon pump support
• Apply professional and supervisory discretion in dynamic cardiovascular intensive care situations

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of practice
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an approved vendor
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification from AHA or ARC Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification
• Cardiovascular experience with open heart recovery training
• Intra-aortic balloon pump experience

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN)
• Prior experience in an acute care facility setting
