About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Med Surg Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 2+ years License: Active RN License Certifications: BLS, Telemetry Must-Have: Telemetry competency Ability to manage 6-7 patients depending on the shift Experience in urology and bowel procedures Description: Unit has 44 beds and 75 total staff. Staffing grid for night shift includes 1 charge nurse, 10 RNs, 4 CNAs, and 1 unit secretary. Patient ratio is 1:7 on night shift. The unit is equipped with telemetry, PCA, wound vacs, Baxter IV pumps, TPN, tube feeds, and urinary catheters. EMR system used is Cerner. Common procedures include TPN, PCA, wound vacs, tube feeds, PEG tubes, dobhoffs, NG tubes, colostomies, and urostomies. Other procedures include biliary drains, JP drains, nephrostomy, urinary catheters, CBI, heparin drips, and IV antibiotics. Surgical procedures include cholecystectomies, appendectomies, podiatry surgeries, bowel resections, plastics, urology surgeries, nephrectomies, hysterectomies, mastectomies, oral/maxillary surgeries, thyroidectomies, and hernia repairs. Ideal candidates are positive, engaging, and have good communication skills. Must interact effectively with the charge nurse, unit secretary, providers, and the CNA team. Weekend shifts are required as part of the schedule.
