Registered Nurse (RN) - NICU

Job Summary Bridge this role as a Part‑time Registered Nurse (RN) in a LevelIII, 18‑bed NICU at BayCare Medical Center in Green Bay. The position requires 24hours per week, scheduled 1900‑0730 two days a week with weekend and holiday rotation. Pay range is $38.20‑$57.30 per hour and standard NICU benefits apply. Responsibilities Engage in unit councils, professional governance, and quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care. Apply the nursing process—assessment, planning, diagnosis, implementation, and evaluation—to deliver individualized, family‑centered care. Monitor patient conditions, modify care plans, mobilize resources, and collaborate with the interprofessional team to influence outcomes. Uphold and promote a culture of safety, continuously evaluating patient, team, and unit metrics and acting as needed. Administer medications, treatments, and therapies safely in accordance with clinical protocols and procedures. Demonstrate effective communication, give and receive feedback, and resolve conflicts to foster teamwork and appropriate delegation. Pursue professional development, complete required education, and maintain all mandated certifications. Adhere to the ANA Code of Ethics, practicing ethical decision‑making, respect interdisciplinary roles, and contribute to integrated, unbiased patient care. Delegate to other RNs, licensed practical nurses, and unlicensed assistive personnel (e.g., nurse aides, medical assistants). Maintain accurate, timely electronic health record documentation. Be prepared to float to other units, departments, or facilities within the service area as patient needs arise. Qualifications Graduate of a Board of Nursing approved nursing education program. Registered Nurse (RN) license (multi‑state compact or single‑state) with practice privileges in the state(s) where services are provided. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Minimum of one year clinical nursing experience. Strong clinical judgment, critical thinking, and problem‑solving skills. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork abilities. Time‑management and prioritization skills suitable for a fast‑paced environment. Proficiency in operating electronic systems (e‑mail, electronic records, digital platforms). Preferred Qualifications Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree. Additional education, training, or certifications relevant to NICU practice. Physical Requirements Must be able to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, reach above shoulders, and twist frequently throughout the day. Must lift and support up to 35pounds and push/pull with 30lbs of force. Must perform a sliding transfer of 150pounds with a second person present. Functional speech, vision, hearing, and fine‑hand manipulation skills for IV insertion and other procedures. Ability to maneuver foot pedals on carts or machines and perform patient restraint and verbal de‑escalation if required. May be exposed to chemical hazards, blood, body fluids, and communicable diseases; protective clothing must be worn as necessary. Physical ability testing may be required.
