Job Details:Job Description: The Role and Impact As a GPU Platform Hardware Design Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in designing and developing high-quality GPU hardware platforms that drive innovation in high-performance computing, graphics, and visualization technologies. You will lead the design process from initial feasibility studies through board layout, tapeout, and platform power-on, ensuring robust functionality and compatibility with industry standards. As part of the GPU IP Engineering team within DCG, you'll contribute to developing GPU systems that meet the evolving demands of the industry while supporting Intel's broader mission to create world-changing technology.Key Responsibilities - Design, develop, and evaluate electronic components, PCBs, and integrated circuits for GPU hardware platforms. - Translate platform-level requirements into detailed specifications and ensure adherence throughout the design process. - Define component placement and trace routing rules to optimize board layouts for performance, power, and signal integrity. - Conduct feasibility studies, board layout, tapeout, and platform power-on activities. - Perform functionality tests and utilize tools to verify platform configurations and compatibility. - Research, develop, and validate firmware, hardware, and circuitry processes to enhance GPU platform performance. - Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including architecture, power, thermal, mechanical, and firmware, to address system development challenges and ensure optimal quality. - Drive innovation in testing, manufacturing, and debugging processes for GPU systems, adhering to industry standards such as PCIe and OAM.Qualifications:Minimum Qualifications - Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field. - 12+ years of experience in hardware design and development with a Bachelor's degree OR 8+ years with a Master's degree OR 6+ years with a Ph.D. - Proficiency in electronic design automation (EDA) tools and board layout software for PCB design. - Deep understanding of electrical engineering principles, including power integrity, signal integrity, and thermal design. - Knowledge of industry standards, such as PCIe and OAM, and familiarity with testing and validation methodologies for GPU platforms. Preferred Qualifications - Strong technical leadership skills with a proven track record of driving complex hardware development projects. - Experience collaborating across disciplines, including architecture, firmware, and mechanical engineering teams. - Excellent problem-solving abilities, with a focus on troubleshooting technical issues in hardware design and bring-up. - Enthusiasm for innovation in high-performance computing and a commitment to delivering quality solutions.
