Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Chemical Systems Project Manager / Superintendent to support a major, long-term advanced semiconductor manufacturing and R&D construction project in West Lafayette, IN.

This position will lead the installation, coordination, testing, commissioning, and turnover of high-purity chemical delivery and process utility systems supporting semiconductor manufacturing.

We are looking for someone who understands both the field construction and project management sides of chemical/process systems and can effectively coordinate contractors, engineering teams, vendors, safety, commissioning, and the owner.

Semiconductor experience is strongly preferred. Candidates with highly relevant pharmaceutical, BioPharma, high-purity process, or advanced manufacturing experience will also be considered.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage construction of bulk and specialty chemical delivery systems .
• Oversee high-purity chemical piping, equipment, pumps, tanks, skids, valves, and distribution systems.
• Coordinate chemical systems, process utilities, UPW, waste, exhaust, and tool hookup interfaces .
• Manage project scope, schedule, budget, manpower, quality, and field execution.
• Coordinate contractors, engineers, equipment vendors, tool vendors, commissioning teams, and owner representatives.
• Review drawings, specifications, P&IDs, submittals, RFIs, field changes, and construction documentation.
• Resolve constructability issues and field conflicts.
• Monitor installation quality and compliance with project specifications, codes, and semiconductor requirements.
• Support system flushing, pressure/leak testing, commissioning, startup, and qualification .
• Manage specialty and hazardous chemical distribution activities.
• Support acid waste neutralization and chemical waste collection systems.
• Ensure high-purity piping installation meets cleanliness and quality requirements.
• Lead project and construction coordination meetings.
• Track schedule milestones, constraints, risks, punch-list items, and corrective actions.
• Support final system acceptance, documentation, turnover, and handover to operations.
• Maintain a strong safety culture around hazardous chemical and high-purity construction activities.

What We're Looking For

• 10+ years of relevant construction, project management, superintendent, process piping, or process utility experience .
• Strong experience with chemical systems, high-purity piping, process utilities, or specialty gas/chemical distribution .
• Semiconductor fab construction experience highly preferred.
• Pharmaceutical/BioPharma high-purity process experience will also be considered.
• Experience working in cleanrooms, active manufacturing facilities, or high-purity environments .
• Knowledge of bulk and specialty chemical delivery systems.
• Experience with base-build systems and tool-install / tool-hookup workflows .
• Ability to read and understand P&IDs, construction drawings, specifications, and technical documentation .
• Understanding of semiconductor chemical safety, high-purity installation practices, applicable codes, and industry standards.
• Experience coordinating testing, commissioning, startup, and turnover.
• Strong contractor and vendor management experience.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to drive project tasks through completion .
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, changing construction environment.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or a related discipline preferred.

Significant directly related semiconductor, chemical systems, process piping, or advanced manufacturing construction experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

Project Details

This is a long-term opportunity through October 2028 supporting the construction and startup of a major advanced semiconductor manufacturing facility.

The position is onsite Monday–Friday , currently averaging approximately 45–50 hours per week . Local candidates are encouraged to apply, and traveling or relocation candidates will also be considered .
