Personal Financial Counselor, Rio Rancho, NM

Job Overview This position provides personal financial services at assigned military installations to service members and their families. Responsibilities Provide full breadth of personal financial counseling services. Offer one‑on‑one counseling, briefings, presentations, and referrals outside counseling sessions. Consult with commanders or other providers and coordinate with installation and military branch points of contact. Assist service members in establishing spending plans for extended absences. Develop and distribute informational financial materials. Coordinate, publicize, and deliver Personal Financial Management classes/workshops covering the military lifecycle. Respond to requests for age‑appropriate classes or seminars. Utilize virtual counseling or electronic communication modes (web‑based, secure online chat, video‑based) authorized by the OSD FINRED program office. Manage duty‑to‑warn situations according to DoD protocol. Communicate with leadership, participate in supervision, and share trends and issues. Participate in in‑services, training, quality improvement committees, or other contract activities as assigned. Perform any other duties as assigned. Education & Experience Bachelor’s degree required (Associate degree + 4years experience, or high school diploma + 6years experience may be considered). 3+ years of financial counseling experience. U.S. citizen; fluent in English (bilingual English & Spanish may be required). Ability to obtain a favorably adjudicated Tier2 investigation. Must pass the Congressionally Mandated Disclosures for Organizational Conflicts of Interest process. Certifications Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC), Certified Financial Planner (CFP), or Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC).
