Loan Originator

Job Overview Starting Pay Rate based on experience. Minimum hourly rate: $12.28. Responsibilities Make sales calls to realtors, builders, and other parties to solicit mortgage loans. Interview loan applicants to document income, debt, credit history, employment, and general information. Request and review documents such as tax returns, W‑2s, purchase agreements, legal descriptions, and other necessary documents. Determine applicant eligibility and recommend additional information if needed. Inform applicants of costs and closing fees associated with loan requests. Submit completed loan applications and supporting documents to loan processing. Call applicants to resolve discrepancies such as derogatory credit or unlisted debt. Inform applicants of approval or denial. Attend loan closings. Participate in scheduled meetings and maintain open communication with bank associates and clients. Meet monthly production goals. Adhere to bank and government regulations, policies, and procedures. Represent the bank in community activities to develop and maintain client relationships. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in a business‑related field. Minimum 3 years of commissioned lending experience. Computer knowledge in a Windows environment; proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel. Ability to review and understand financial information, including tax returns. Strong proofreading and verification skills. Ability to work independently and in a team environment. Flexible to meet client needs and schedule.
