Superior Aerospace Precision Machining is seeking an experienced CNC Machinist to join our second-shift manufacturing team. In this role, you will set up and operate vertical and horizontal milling machines, produce precision-machined components, and verify that finished parts meet drawing and quality requirements.

Schedule

This is a full-time, second-shift position.

Hours : Monday - Friday 2:30pm - 11:00pm

Key Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC vertical and horizontal milling machines for new and repeat production jobs.
• Read and interpret complex engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications, and tolerances.
• Gather and assemble the required cutting tools, toolholders, fixtures, and workholding.
• Inspect and measure machined parts using a coordinate measuring machine (CMM), optical comparator, and precision hand-measuring tools.
• Verify that finished parts conform to specifications and quality requirements.
• Complete shop travelers, inspection records, and other required production documentation accurately and neatly.
• Troubleshoot machining and setup issues.
• Evaluate repeat jobs for opportunities to improve cycle times, reduce waste, and increase process efficiency.
• Work with Engineering, Quality, and Management on departmental and companywide initiatives.
• Train and mentor new and developing employees.
• Clean and maintain machines, tools, and work areas to keep equipment in good working condition.
• Follow all company quality procedures and workplace safety requirements.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Five or more years of related CNC machining or precision manufacturing experience.
• Experience setting up CNC vertical and/or horizontal milling machines.
• Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings, blueprints, and manufacturing specifications.
• Experience using precision inspection equipment and measurement tools.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a manufacturing environment.
• Basic computer skills and the ability to learn new programs and systems.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a manufacturing team.

Preferred Knowledge and Experience

• Experience with CMM inspection and optical comparators.
• Knowledge of process control, inspection procedures, calibration, product identification, and inspection status.
• Familiarity with document control, records control, statistical tools, ISO quality systems, and workplace safety requirements.
• Experience training or mentoring other machinists.
• Experience identifying opportunities to improve machining processes and reduce waste.
