Assistant Grocery Manager

Grocery Department Associate$23.63 - $25.13 PER HOURGENERAL PURPOSE:The purpose of this position is to ensure the quality, freshness, and product assortment is maintained throughout the store, particularly in the grocery departments. This person will be receiving, stocking, and rotating product, facing product, taking special orders, training new associates, and providing exceptional customer service.ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:Follows established departmental and store policies and proceduresAssists the Grocery Manager with the successful operation of the grocery, frozen, and dairy departmentsEnsures the quality and freshness of all products and services provided by the grocery, frozen, and dairy departmentsResponsible for maintaining the appropriate product assortment and inventory levels for the grocery, frozen, and dairy departmentsConfirms pricing accuracy and signage for all products, paying particular attention to ad itemsEnsures the store is cleaned daily and meets the company standards for appearanceDelivers excellent customer service to all customersReceives, stores, and stocks a wide variety of products for the grocery, frozen, and dairy departmentsOrders product to meet the needs of the grocery departments based on past and projected salesPulls out of date product from the shelvesBuilds end-cap and other special product displaysAssists Grocery Manager and Store Director with the successful operation of the storeCommunicates openly and frequently with Grocery Manager, Store Director, and Sales DirectorsEnsures company standards for safety, sanitation, and productivity are maintainedTeaches, mentors, and educates associates to help them be successful members of the teamAssists with quarterly inventory of all store productsCompletes assigned tasks efficiently and in a timely mannerSets a professional and positive example to othersAssists as needed to ensure the success of the store as a wholeMARGINIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:Periodic graveyard shift rotations.
