Health Services Coordinator

Summary

Health Services Coordinator is responsible for providing occupational health services to all company employees, which includes but is not limited to performing assessments of patient's condition, determining appropriate course of treatment, and administering basic life support, if needed. In addition to treatment and management of injuries, the Health Services Coordinator will be responsible for performing a variety of administrative tasks to assist the Health Services Manager with onsite clinic operations.

Education, Licensure and Experience

  • Current CNA with Med Aid Certification or Med Aid Certification or MA or LPN license in the state of Nebraska required.
  • Current BLS certification required.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Experience with Worker's Compensation preferred.
  • Experience with Americans with Disabilities Act Accommodation (ADA) preferred.
  • Skills with multiple Microsoft applications required.
  • Experience with Acute Health Care preferred.
  • Spanish fluency preferred.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following (Please note: This in no way states or implies that these are the only duties you will be required to perform. The omission of specific duties does not exclude them from the position. Other duties may be assigned as deemed necessary and appropriate):

  1. Ensure quality health and medical care of all Wholestone Farms Employees.
  2. Maintain appropriate documentation of patient care, incident reports and other necessary reports.
  3. Encourage a safe, pleasant work environment for employees.
  4. Responsible for first aid, BP checks, conducting pre-employment drug and urine screens and completion of additional paperwork required.
  5. Reviews pre-employment exam documents with Health Services Manager and schedules functional capacity exams if necessary.
  6. Assists Health Services Manager with Worker's Compensation management as necessary.
  7. Assist with initiating employee ADA requests.
  8. Assists with planning and coordination of Hearing and Pulmonary function testing.
    1. Ensures all test results are filed accordingly.
    2. Schedules physician exams as needed based on test results.
    3. Maintain roster of employees certified to wear a respirator.
  9. Plans and coordinates onsite vaccination clinics.
    1. Ensures all documentation is filed accordingly as needed.
  10. Attends meetings in the absence of the Health Services Manager.
    1. Ability to communicate clearly in group and individual settings.
    2. Run reports and explain information held in reports clearly.
  11. Perform proper procedures in a timely and appropriate manner to prevent further harm to the patient using basic life support.
  12. Report verbally and in writing their observations of patients.
  13. Assists with maintaining HIPPA, OSHA, Worker's Compensation, and medical records compliance.
  14. Assist with maintaining inventory and ordering medical supplies.
  15. Inspects and maintains Automated External Defibrillators for the facility as necessary.
  16. Participates as a member of the facility Hazmat Team.
  17. Participates as a member of the facility Safety Committee.
  18. Partners with Benefits Analyst to encourage Workplace Wellness
    1. Plans and coordinates wellness events such as breast cancer awareness, high blood pressure awareness, importance of diet and exercise, blood drives, etc.
  19. Other duties as assigned.

Language Skills

Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the language of the majority cultural group to communicate effectively. Must be able to hear enough to understand those individuals as well.

Must be able to effectively communicate in both individual and group settings Must be able to present information and respond to questions from individuals and/or groups.

Mathematical Skills

In order to perform duties, must be able to:
  1. Add, subtract, multiply, and divide all units of measure such as whole numbers, fractions, percentages, and fractions.
Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense and best judgment in solving problems and interpreting and understanding instructions furnished in written and oral form. Must be able to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action yet reason when to involve Manager.

Computer Skills

Intermediate computer knowledge with the ability to learn software.

Other Skills and Abilities
  1. Display strong organizational skills with ability to prioritize multiple tasks and deal with frequent interruptions.
  2. Display attention to detail when inputting data into corporate reports.
  3. Basic office skills such as phone skills, voice mail, copying, faxing, typing, and directing visitors.
  4. Ability to function independently given assigned duties.
  5. Ability to communicate, work, and interact with a variety of individuals.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to use hands and/or fingers to feel, manipulate small objects, write and type. The employee is frequently required to bend, squat/knee, twist/turn, sit, talk, hear, and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to push/pull, climb, walk, stand, and balance. The employee is rarely required to smell and/or taste. The employee must frequently lift/carry/move up to 15 pounds and occasionally up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
