Facilities Electrical EngineerThe Boeing Company's STL Engineering organization is currently seeking a Facilities Electrical Engineer in Hazelwood, MO to support our operations in St. Louis and the surrounding areas where Boeing maintains facilities in support of production. Our team is hiring for a broad range of experience levels including Experienced or Senior Specialists.This role involves working within a dynamic facilities environment that supports critical production operations. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience in high, medium, and low voltage systems, with a strong focus on maintaining and upgrading aging infrastructure within manufacturing facilities.We welcome applicants from a variety of professional backgrounds who are ready to contribute to Boeing's mission of excellence in aerospace manufacturing and innovation.Position Responsibilities:Provide input for infrastructure planning; conduct studies; analyze current conditions and future trends; recommend capital improvements; analyze data; work with both internal and external customers to identify needs and alternatives and impactsLead large-scale, high-impact projects in electrical infrastructure for one of the world's most respected aerospace companiesInnovate and modernize aging systems across Boeing's manufacturing and testing facilitiesWork cross-functionally with top engineers, project managers, and regulatory professionalsAdvance your career while helping Boeing remain at the forefront of industry excellenceLead and manage the full lifecycle of complex electrical and multi-discipline facility projects—from concept through design, permitting, construction, and close-outReview and approve detailed design documents to ensure compliance with building codes, electrical regulations, and internal standardsSpearhead asset reliability strategies including root cause analysis, life-cycle evaluations, and system modernization effortsDevelop and present project plans, budgets, and technical reports to internal stakeholders and external regulatory bodiesSelect materials, equipment, and systems in alignment with engineering best practices and sustainability goalsOversee contractor selection, manage vendor relationships, and ensure on-time, on-budget executionServe as the technical authority on facility electrical systems, including medium and low voltage distribution, emergency power, lighting, and moreEnsure proper documentation, archiving, and permit compliance across projectsMentor junior engineers and represent Boeing on cross-functional engineering teams and technical committeesAssist others in the design process by providing input on vendor selection/reviews, regulatory interface with government/non-profit agencies, and project management objectivesUse appropriate resources to produce project drawings, specifications, and permit application packages in accordance with project requirementsTransmit customer requirements to engineering, provide preliminary materials, equipment, and system design, and develop preliminary project schedulesReview and approve project drawings, specifications, and other engineering documentsBasic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution3+ years of experience in operations, engineering, and maintenance practices across various facilities and infrastructure systems, including but not limited to architectural, civil, electrical, and mechanical disciplinesExperience reading and interpreting engineering drawings, technical publications and/or specificationsExperience leading multi-disciplined complex engineering projects across multiple organizationsPreferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in the state of Missouri, or the ability to obtain within 6 months of hire (this may be moved to preferred qualifications)5+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experienceExperience with commercial or industrial facility systems, including power distribution (high, medium, low voltage), emergency power, and lightingFamiliarity with relevant codes and standards (e.g., NEC, NFPA 70E, local building codes)Proficiency in design review, cost estimation, and construction project oversightExperience working with regulatory agencies or managing permit and compliance processesExposure to reliability engineering concepts such as lifecycle assessments, root cause analysis, or condition-based maintenanceDrug Free Workplace:Boeing is a Drug Free Workplace where post offer applicants and employees are subject to testing for marijuana, cocaine, opioids, amphetamines, PCP, and alcohol when criteria is met as outlined in our policies.Pay & Benefits:At Boeing, we strive to deliver a Total Rewards package that will attract, engage and retain the top talent.
