About the Position

The Senior Finance Associate will play a key role in managing all aspects of financial reporting as well as ensuring the integrity and transparency of data and core accounting operations. This role will require frequent interaction across finance, operations, and external stakeholders, and will be expected to maintain a high standard of accuracy, integrity, and timeliness in all deliverables, while also bringing a continuous improvement mindset to the way we manage fiduciary obligations. As the organization grows and evolves, this role will contribute to shaping the Finance function and will offer significant opportunity for development, including exposure to broader corporate finance initiatives.

This specific role has substantial exposure to reporting, handling of cash, controls, and leadership. Over the next several years, the Finance team will lead debt and equity raises, technology system implementation, organizational restructuring, and M&A. The current CFO has a strong track record of developing high-potential individuals into highly sought C-suite talent.

Responsibilities

• Prepare month-end journal entries, detailed account reconciliations, and variance analysis
• Perform period-end close functions for full-cycle fiduciary activity in accounting software (NetSuite)
• Prepare external remittances and reporting for carriers and brokers
• Work with large data sets across multiple systems to validate, reconcile, and analyze financial information
• Deliver timely, accurate, and actionable insights to the leadership team, investors, and other stakeholders
• Assist in continued development and documentation of internal controls
• Collaborate with a supportive team that promotes personal and professional growth

Required Skills, Knowledge, and Experience

• 2-5 years of experience in accounting/finance roles (preferably in public accounting/Big 4)
• Active CPA
• Technical aptitude – the ability to learn and use a variety of business software applications and artificial intelligence
• Data acumen – experience working with robust and complex financial data
• Project management – the self-direction to balance and execute multiple priorities
• Professional presence – the ability to present to colleagues, executives, and clients
• Grit – the ability to meet deadlines and achieve goals under pressure
• Precision – the ability to deliver well-documented work and perform effective self-review
