Surgery - General Physician Assistant

A thrilling opportunity has arisen for experienced Physician Assistants specializing in surgical cardiovascular procedures. Situated within a Level II Trauma Center, this role offers substantial exposure to cardiovascular surgeries and related thoracic cases. Candidates are required to have significant experience in endovascular vein harvesting (EVH). The position entails a dynamic schedule, including 10-hour onsite shifts followed by night call, promoting diverse and challenging responsibilities within a supportive healthcare environment.

Job Responsibilities

• Assist with cardiovascular and thoracic surgeries, including postoperative patient rounds and note-taking
• Conduct follow-up clinics within the hospital setting
• Provide on-call coverage, including night shifts for emergent situations
• Collaborate with surgeons and support staff to ensure high-quality patient care

Qualifications

• Board Certified
• Valid State License
• ACLS, BLS, DEA certifications required
• Recent and substantial cardiovascular surgical assist experience
• Endovascular vein harvesting (EVH) experience essential
• Clean malpractice history
• Self-query NPDB report is mandatory at presentation

Working Hours

• All shifts include 10 hours onsite from 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM, followed by night call from 5:00 PM - 7:00 AM
• Coverage includes holiday and weekend on-call duties, as scheduled
