Senior Java Backend Developer

We are seeking an experienced Senior Java Backend Developer with strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, Kafka, Microservices, and AWS to design, develop, and maintain scalable cloud-native applications. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience building enterprise-grade backend systems, implementing event-driven architectures, and working in Agile environments. Experience with Camunda BPM and frontend technologies such as React is a plus.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable Java-based backend applications using Spring Boot and Microservices architecture.
• Build and support cloud-native applications on AWS using services such as ECS, Lambda, and related cloud technologies.
• Develop and maintain RESTful APIs and event-driven solutions using Apache Kafka.
• Design and implement secure, high-performance backend services following industry best practices.
• Participate in the complete software development lifecycle, including design, coding, testing, CI/CD, deployment, and production support.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including architects, product owners, QA, and DevOps engineers.
• Develop automated unit, integration, and performance tests.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipeline development and deployment automation.
• Work as an individual contributor while mentoring junior developers when needed.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, stand-ups, code reviews, and retrospectives.
• Evaluate and adopt AI-driven automation techniques to improve software development and testing processes.

Required Skills

• 10+ years of hands-on experience in Java application development.
• Strong expertise in Java, Spring Framework, and Spring Boot.
• Extensive experience with Microservices architecture.
• Hands-on experience with Apache Kafka and event-driven systems.
• Strong experience developing REST APIs.
• Experience with AWS cloud services including ECS, Lambda, IAM, CloudWatch, and related services.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation.
• Strong understanding of software design patterns and backend architecture.
• Experience with Git, Maven/Gradle, and modern development tools.
• Excellent debugging, troubleshooting, and performance optimization skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Camunda BPM or other Business Process Management (BPM) platforms.
• Exposure to React or other frontend frameworks.
• Knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development and automated testing tools.
• Experience with Terraform or Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
• AWS Certification is a plus.
