Precision Machining Trade: CNC Operator Wanted in Longview!

Are you a coachable, detail-oriented CNC Operator with solid hands-on experience running shop equipment, reading prints, and performing machine setups under light supervision? American Workforce Group has partnered with a premier precision manufacturing and machine shop in Longview, WA to hire a dependable, full-time CNC Operator . In this role, you will set up and operate a variety of CNC machinery across the department, interpret technical blueprints, produce close-tolerance components efficiently with minimal scrap, and contribute to a collaborative, high-standard team culture. • Perform machine setups and changeovers on departmental CNC machinery with light supervisory oversight.
• Safely operate, monitor, and tend multiple CNC mills, lathes, or production machining centers to run production orders efficiently.
• Read and accurately interpret blueprints, technical drawings, part tolerances, and shop work instructions.
• Inspect in-process and completed parts using precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, height gauges) to ensure zero-defect quality.
• Make minor tool offset adjustments and replace worn tooling or inserts as necessary to maintain strict dimensional accuracy.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free workstation while strictly adhering to shop safety protocols and PPE requirements.

• Pay Rate: $23.00 – $30.00 / hour (Scaling based on setup capability, machinery versatility, and experience / DOE).
• Schedule: Full-Time Monday – Friday | 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM (Core Day Shift).
• Overtime Flexibility: Must be willing and able to work overtime with little advance notice based on customer production deadlines.
• Location: Longview, WA shop facility.
• Position Type: Full-Time, Temp-to-Hire career pathway.

• Machinery Experience: Proven experience safely operating CNC production machinery and the versatility to run most equipment within the department (Operator level, not full programmer/master machinist).
• Setup Capability: Demonstrated ability to perform routine part setups and fixture loading with basic guidance.
• Technical Literacy: Confident blueprint reading skills and the ability to take and execute detailed technical instructions clearly.
• Character & Culture: High personal integrity, humility, active listening skills, self-confidence, enthusiasm, and a genuine eagerness to learn.
