Electronic Alarm Systems Mechanic

Summary

You will serve as a ELECTRONIC SECURITY SYSTEMS MECHANIC in the NAVY PUBLIC WORKS CENTER of NAVFAC SOUTHWEST.

This position is being recruited for the Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command (NAVFAC) and may subsequently be realigned under the Commander Navy Installations Command (CNIC).

Duties

• You will performs repairs and maintenance on an analog/digital computer - type network with a variety of input forms.
• You will perform functional tests on each subsystem as a scheduled maintenance program determine cause of malfunctions and make necessary repairs.
• You will performs all overhauling calibrating installing modifying and aligning of the sensor subsystems and logic subsystems.
• You will diagnoses system or equipment malfunctions and repairs as necessary.
• You will use building plans blueprints wiring diagrams engineering drawings and electrical maintenance and repair manuals.

• This position is subject to work an uncommon tour including nights weekends and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
• You will be required to obtain and maintain a current Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation certification.
• You will be required to obtain and maintain a licenses for the operation of Fork Lift High Lift (JLG) and or Construction equipment upon notification.

Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience not necessarily the length of time.

1) Utilizing building plans blueprints wiring diagrams engineer drawings and electrical maintenance and repair manuals to plan and lay out the routing of equipment and controls; 2) Determining and installing wiring conduit transformers and other electrical devices in the size type and arrangement needed for proper and safe operation of electrical alarm systems and equipment. 3) Knowledge of electronic principles involved in such applications as fata display digital logic circuits telephone ultrasonic and microminiaturized integrated circuitry. I work under close supervision of a work leader or journey level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed.
