Dietetic Technician (Per Diem)

Position Summary:
Dietetic Technicians support the Clinical Nutrition team by assisting in the delivery of high-quality nutritional care to patients and families in both inpatient and outpatient settings.

The per diem schedule requires a minimum of 1 day per week and 1 weekend per month. The team is ideally seeking candidates with greater availability; however, this reflects the minimum requirement. During the initial training period, candidates are expected to be available 2-3 days per week for approximately 2-3 months while becoming fully trained and acclimated to the role.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assisting the Clinical Dietitian in providing optimal nutritional care to patients.
• Screening patients who may be at nutritional risk and providing supportive clinical care and follow-up.
• Calculating patient nutrient and energy intake when ordered by a provider or requested by a dietitian.
• Providing nutrition-related education for patients and caregivers on select modified diets.
• Monitoring understanding and implementation of nutrition interventions and communicating progress to the Registered Dietitian.
• Modifying care plans as needed in collaboration with the Clinical Dietitian.

Minimum Qualifications
Education:

• Associate's degree from an ACEND-accredited program is required, Bachelor's degree from an ACEND-accredited program is preferred.

Experience:

• Minimum of one to two years of related experience preferred.
• Proficiency with nutrient analysis software and basic computer skills.
• Strong communication and analytical skills to support patient-centered care.

Licensure/Certifications:

• Registered Dietetic Technician credential from the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) is preferred.
• ServSafe Certification is preferred.

The posted pay range is Boston Children's reasonable and good-faith expectation for this pay at the time of posting.
