Location(s) Outpatient Surgery Center, Battle Building (OPSC) Outpatient Center Ivy Road (OCIR) Surgical Care Riverside (SCR) The Role As a Registered Nurse in UVA Health's Outpatient Surgery Centers, you will provide comprehensive perioperative nursing care across a variety of surgical specialties in a focused outpatient environment. This role balances efficiency with clinical rigor and allows nurses to deliver high‑quality care in settings intentionally designed for safety, flow, and patient experience. Position Responsibilities Deliver perioperative nursing care including preoperative preparation, intraoperative support, and postoperative recovery. Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesia professionals, surgical technologists, and fellow nurses to ensure safe and seamless procedures. Apply evidence‑based practice and standardized protocols to support patient safety and optimal outcomes. Maintain accurate documentation and compliance with regulatory and professional standards. Contribute to a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement. Typical Day Monday through Friday schedule with no nights, weekends, or holidays and minimal call with incentive pay. Minimum Requirements Education: Graduate of accredited nursing program, Bachelor of Science in Nursing required within 5 years of hire. Experience: 1 year of nursing experience. Licensure: Licensed to Practice as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia. American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification required. Physical Demands Job requires standing for prolonged periods, frequently bending/stooping, reaching (overhead, extensive, and repetitive); Repetitive motion: computer keyboard. Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull 50–100 lbs. May be exposed to noise, radiation, radioactive materials, blood/body fluids and infectious disease. The pay range for this role is $39.90 – $53.00 hourly. Individual compensation will be determined by the selected candidate's qualifications, previous work experience, and/or education.
