Submarine Integration Analyst

Job Title

Ensure that the product/service and process meet quality and safety standards in accordance with NAVSEA and NIWC requirements. Research and prepare drafts and/or finished technical drawings to program management and customers. Assist in receipt, distribution, and local management of Design Agent produced technical data in support of the local production of CSRR, GBS, CANES, and ADNS systems. Incorporate and maintain the most current CSRR SCN and Modernization drawing packages to include all drawing redlines. Develop and maintain Master PLAR/LAR/RLAR matrixes for CSRR SCN and Modernization drawing packages. Review and analyze released engineering change data and redline drawings and submit recommended changes to engineering, quality, materials, and support. Collect data and status reports from Corporate Production required for weekly/bi-weekly Production & Integration meetings. Provide direct support to the Afloat Submarine C4I IPT Technical Lead in drawing and engineering documentation review. Review preliminary and existing technical engineering drawing documentation for discrepancies. Develop and submit proposed recommended resolutions in support of PARMALT Liaison Action Records (PLARs) or Planning Yard Liaison Action Records (LARs) submissions. Provide DMSMS support as required. Participate in System Integration Team (SIT) meetings and Systems Engineering Working Group (SEWG) meetings. Participate in all CSRR Production meetings with NIWC Atlantic Corporate Production contractors and other NIWC Atlantic staff and Industry Partners to resolve drawings and part issues. Provide cursory QA reviews of production work as directed.

Requirements

Four (4) or more years of experience solving technical problems. Trained in the skills and techniques related to engineering and/or software design/maintenance. Possesses a practical understanding of engineering/software concepts. Experience testing equipment/system to make sure that the process operates effectively and safely. Capable of performing depot-level repair and tests of equipment and cables in accordance with NAVSEA and NIWC requirements. Ability to interpret plans and drawings and contribute to the design and fabrication of Exterior Communication Systems (ECS) equipment and cables. Knowledge of computer aided drafting (CAD), ability to prepare shop drawings for model construction, and familiarity with material specifications and fabrication methods. Experience developing/maintaining and interpreting project timelines as required. Experience developing test procedures and removal/installation procedures as required.

Familiarity working with a wide range of government civilians (NAVSEA, PEO C4I, NUWC, and naval shipyards), military personnel, contractors, shipbuilders, and vendors. Ability to communicate effectively via telephone, email and in person. Verbal and written communication skills. Problem-solving and analytical skills. Ability to read and correctly interpret engineering Level 3 mechanical, electrical, wiring table, and sub-assembly fabrication drawings and documents. Short-term planning and computer skills. Knowledge of engineering/Mil-Spec/Mil-Std/NAVSEA methods, operation techniques, and other principles in determining potential solutions. Experience working with Exterior Communication Systems and Equipment onboard USN Submarines. Proficient with: Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Project, Microsoft Visio, Microsoft Access, Microsoft Team, Winzip, 7-Zip, Adobe Professional. Familiar with: SolidWorks, Creo or Inventor, AutoCAD/Visio.
