Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Alternating 12-Hour Shifts (Days and Nights) | 3x12-Hour Shifts | Every Other Weekend Required (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) | 1 Holiday Required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care in a high-acuity CVICU setting managing complex cardiac surgery, heart and lung transplant, advanced heart failure, and shock patients
• Perform and assist with advanced bedside procedures including management of open chest patients and other high-acuity cardiovascular conditions
• Monitor and manage hemodynamic parameters including CVP, PA Lines/Swan Ganz, IABP, Impella, and LVAD/RVAD devices
• Titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips, administer IV sedation and paralytics, and manage IV insulin protocols
• Manage ventilator-dependent patients, interpret ABGs, and provide respiratory support including BiPAP, CPAP, HFNC, and tracheostomy care
• Float to Adult ICU or Telemetry units with appropriate assignment when CVICU census is low

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required
• Active PA Single State or Compact RN license required at time of submission
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of recent acute care experience
• Proficiency with Epic EMR required
• PA Fingerprinting required prior to start

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with cardiac surgery patients including CABG, valve repair/replacement, TAVR, and pre/post cardiac catheterization
• Experience managing renal replacement therapies including CVVHD/CRRT and pre/post hemodialysis care
• Familiarity with TTM/Arctic Sun, epicardial pacing wires, and multisystem organ dysfunction management
