Field Service Mechanic

We are seeking a Field Service Technician to perform field modifications, installation verification, testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting of rail vehicles and associated systems. The ideal candidate has strong electrical and mechanical expertise, can interpret engineering documentation, and works independently to deliver safe, high-quality installations and repairs.
Responsibilities
- Perform field modifications, retrofits, upgrades, and commissioning of rail vehicles.
- Troubleshoot 24VDC to 480VAC electrical systems , mechanical , pneumatic , hydraulic , and electromechanical systems .
- Read and interpret electrical schematics , wiring diagrams , mechanical drawings , and technical documentation.
- Conduct installation verification, system testing, inspections, and operational validation.
- Perform root cause analysis , implement corrective actions, and document all work performed.
- Support startup, warranty, and customer field service activities while following safety and quality standards.
- Experience troubleshooting 24VDC-480VAC electrical systems and complex electromechanical equipment.
- Proficiency reading electrical schematics , wiring diagrams , and engineering documentation.
- Hands-on experience with multimeters , clamp meters , insulation testers , hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring equipment.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently.
- Experience with commissioning , field modifications , and system validation preferred.
- Familiarity with CAN communication networks , PLC controls , vehicle control systems , and software-assisted diagnostics is a plus.
