About the Position

Job Title

Respiratory Therapist – Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | 13 Weeks | Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide respiratory therapy services across high-acuity pediatric units including a Level IV NICU, Level I PICU, and/or Cardiothoracic ICU
• Deliver care to patients with conditions such as asthma, bronchiolitis, cystic fibrosis, pneumonia, and tracheostomy-ventilated support needs
• Perform tracheostomy care, ventilator management, suctioning, and oxygen therapy
• Manage intubated patients and administer specialty gas therapies including heliox and iNO in the PICU setting
• Float within the hospital across units as needed to meet facility staffing requirements within scope of practice
• Maintain current California RCP License, RRT certification, BLS, PALS, and Advanced NRP (AHA) throughout the duration of the contract

Required Qualifications

• California RCP License required in hand prior to start (or verified ETA for licensure posting)
• RRT – NBRC national certification required
• BLS (AHA) required
• PALS (AHA) required
• Advanced NRP (AHA) required – Essential level no longer accepted; must be in hand or candidate must be registered for an Advanced class and obtain certification prior to start date
• Minimum 1 year of experience in a Level IV NICU or Level I Trauma facility (mixed adult/pediatric facility experience accepted)
• Candidates must live more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates are not accepted

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience at a dedicated children's hospital is strongly preferred
• Demonstrated ability to work across at least two of the following: Level IV NICU, Level I PICU, and/or Cardiothoracic ICU
• Familiarity with Epic EMR
• Prior travel therapy experience welcomed; first-time travelers are accepted
