Construction Inspector

The Construction Inspector provides quality assurance inspections under the direction of the Construction Manager. Serving as a vital field resource for project managers, contractors, and developers, this role ensures that small to large-scale development projects comply with contract specifications, complex regulations, and safety ordinances.

Key Responsibilities:
Field Inspection: Provide general inspection of construction activities across multiple projects, monitoring site work and installations by contractors and utility providers.
Quality Assurance: Audit projects for cost and constructability based on specific site plans and engineering drawings.
Technical Support: Analyze design and surveying problems; assist in preparing bid documents, technical specifications, and comprehensive reports.

Project Coordination:
Participate in staff meetings to communicate critical issues to management and maintain accurate, timely project records.
Relationship Management: Establish and maintain effective working relationships with management, developers, contractors, and public agencies.

Required Qualifications:
Experience:
Four (4) years of experience in paraprofessional engineering or construction trades (designing, surveying, materials testing, or drafting).
OR a B.S. in Construction Management from an accredited institution.
Technical Knowledge:
Strong understanding of civil engineering principles, construction trends, and mathematics.
Working knowledge of federal, state, and local codes/regulations governing construction.
Software Proficiency: Experienced in AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, and standard company software packages.
Communication: Excellent report writing, presentation, and customer service skills.
Compliance: Must possess a valid Driver’s License and maintain an acceptable driving record.
