About the Position

Job Title: ICU Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Intensive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1 year License: Current RN license required Certifications: ACLS, BLS Must-Have: Strong ICU experience Experience with titrating drips Experience with patients on ventilators Experience with BiPAP Description: The unit is an Oncology Intensive Care Unit. It consists of 10 beds and is staffed by 4 personnel, including a charge nurse and RNs based on the census. There are no techs on the unit. Patient ratios are 2:1. The unit utilizes various equipment including ventilators, CRRT, A-lines, BiPAP, Flow-track, and IV pumps. Electronic medical records are managed with Meditech. Typical procedures performed include the complete care of critically ill patients. This involves turning, titrating drips, dressing changes, and tracheostomy care. The ideal candidate is compassionate, works well with others, and builds good rapport with physicians. Candidates with CRRT and transplant experience (Kidney, Pancreas, Liver) are preferred. Report times are 0645 and 1845. Staff are required to clock in and out for lunch. Rotating weekends are expected.
