Location: Fortuna, CA (3300 Renner Drive, Fortuna, CA 95540)

Start Date: 07/20/2026

End Date/Duration: Contract position (dates to be confirmed)

Shift: Night shifts (6a-2p, 8a-4p, 1p-11p) preference for night shift work

Hours/week: Guaranteed 8 hours, with overtime after 12 hours (pre-approved)

Employment Type: Contract/Locum

License/Certifications: Active CA license required; BC/BE in emergency medicine within 5 years; ABEM/ABEOM certification

Experience: Minimum 2 years of current hospital clinical activity in emergency medicine; must include case logs if applicable

Pay & Benefits

Pay rate: $1.00/hour (please inquire about specific pay arrangements)

Incentive: $25/hour additional for confirmed night shifts

Weekly pay: Via direct deposit

What You'll Do

Provide emergency medical care to patients in a high-volume ED (~110 patients in 24 hours)

Manage a wide range of urgent and emergent cases

Collaborate with hospital staff and follow established protocols

Ensure patient safety and quality standards are maintained

Complete necessary documentation and case logs

Adhere to hospital and department policies, including privileging requirements

What You Need

Valid California medical license

Board-certified or Board-eligible in emergency medicine (within 5 years)

ABEM or ABEOM certification preferred

Minimum 2 years recent hospital emergency medicine experience

Ability to work night shifts exclusively

Strong clinical judgment, communication, and teamwork skills
