Job Description Job Summary: Facilitate diverse financial analysis for aschool/unit and assist department management with their financialplanning efforts, budget analysis and monthly reporting. Job-Specific Responsibilities: The Senior Construction Financial Analyst supports the oversight ofthe day-to-day financial responsibilities of the Office of PhysicalResources and Planning (OPRP’s) capital construction projects,assists with the Capital Construction Planning efforts, liaiseswith the Capital Planning& Project Services (CAPS) office, andassists with monthly reporting. The position will also supportcapital construction project controls management – financial,contract, and compliance. Capital construction projects typicallymanaged by the Faculty of Arts and Sciences (FAS)Capital Projectsgroup range from ~\$500K to over \$100M. Projects occur in any of theFAS’s268 buildings: science laboratories, museums, libraries,classrooms, residences, athletic facilities, and administrativespaces. Financial Support Perform monthly reconciliation of capital construction projectcosts and A/P adjustments, process journals, and upload monthlycharges into PRESTO (OPRP Finance systems for operations, planning,and construction) ensuring timely and accurate budget actuals. Support preparation of the $1.5 billion FAS Multi-Year CapitalConstruction Plan andprovide financial and ad hoc analysis andreporting. Collaborate with FAS Finance and FAS Development Office totrack and reconcile fundingfor equity-financed projects. Use the Faculty Review, Offer, Professorship, and Searches(FROPS) system to plan for faculty appointment searches and updatebudget data in liaison with FAS Finance. Provide financial assistance on capital projects managed by theOwner's Project Manager(OPMs). Project Support Prepare, review, and submit funding and closeout requests (CAPSforms) for capital construction projects and track their approvalprogress. Work with Project Managers (PMs) to process invoices, trackpayments, and verify execution of contracts. Collaborate with PMs and OPMs on the monthly Executive SummaryReporting process required by Central Administration on capitalprojects over $5M and consolidate the output into one document forreview by Senior Management. Manage project information in project management tools andassure data integrity across financial systems. Ensure full execution of construction contracts prior to billpaying. Work with the University Auditor to review contract/actualrates and mark-ups. Support the closeout process for capital construction projectsby ensuring accurate billing(i.e. permits, hazmat…). Working Conditions: Work is performed in an office setting;Hybrid schedule: three (3) days on campus (2 days WFH) after 90-dayOrientation & Review and fully up and running Physical Requirements: Sitting and using near vision forreading and computer work for extended periods of time Qualifications Basic Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required Minimum of 7 years’ relevant work experience Additional Qualifications and Skills: Experience in construction project management, property budgetoversight, higher education, or non-profit management stronglypreferred. Working knowledge of capital construction accounting principlesstrongly preferred. Experience with general ledger, general accounting practices,and financial systems. Working knowledge of capital construction accountingprinciples. Strong, demonstrable Excel skills and hands-on experience withanalysis and data query tools (e.g., pivot tables, SUMIF, VLOOKUPfunctionality, formulas, etc.) Ability to build strong relationships with people at all levelsof the organization. Collaborative working style with strong attention to detail andproblem-solving skills; able to work independently, cooperatively,and with interruptions. Organized, dependable, and have a positive, pitch-in attitude,excellent interpersonal, proofreading, and financial record-keepingskills. Excellent judgment, initiative, and follow-through areessential. Strong oral and written communication skills. Additional Information Standard Hours/Schedule: 35 hours per week Compensation Range/Rate: The salary will be determinedbased on the position and the candidate’s relevant experience.
