Heavy Equipment Field Technician (Mechanic) At EquipmentShare, we’re building something new for the construction industry. We’re hiring a Heavy Equipment Field Technician (Mechanic) at our rental facility in Louisville, KY. Position Overview Field technicians provide maintenance and repair for customer and company‑owned heavy equipment and aerial lifts, using our tech platform for work orders, data analysis, and scheduling. The schedule is Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with overtime and on‑call opportunities. Primary Responsibilities Use technology (laptops, tablets) to create, assign, and monitor work orders Maintain and repair complex mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems on rental and customer equipment Practice safe job practices while working on equipment Use independent judgment for diagnostics and corrective actions Assist in training lower‑level technicians Maintain documentation of work performed Assist with pick‑up and delivery of equipment and parts Travel to customer job sites as required and maintain service vehicle Participate in year‑round OEM training Perform other duties as assigned Why EquipmentShare? Skills & Qualifications Must own tools applicable to the position Advanced mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of tools Extensive knowledge of construction equipment and schematics Superior customer service, teamwork, and communication skills Education and Experience High school diploma; trade school certificate preferred Experience in field service, maintenance and repair preferred Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record; at least 21 years old to operate company vehicle Physical Requirements Ability to move, stand, stoop, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds at times May be required to be clean‑shaven to enter some work sites Position is safety‑sensitive and requires passing a 10‑panel drug screen A Workplace for All We believe the best solutions come from a team that reflects the world around us.
