Career Advisor, Adult/Dislocated Worker

EMPLOYMENT TYPE: Full-Time, Non-Exempt Employee Career Team is looking to hire a Career Advisor who will perform professional work providing career counseling, intensive case management, and follow‑up services. Work is performed under the supervision of the WIOA Program Lead. Responsibilities Provide information and case management services to the community Complete intake and eligibility determination for the workforce programs Assess career seekers’ employment, abilities, and training needs through interviewing, testing, and other methods Serve as a liaison between workforce development programs and community partners Enter data into and otherwise use and process career seekers through any participant information system as required Guide career seekers through the preparation of individual employment plans (IEP) based on their specific occupational goals Stay on top of labor market trends and best practices Counsel career seekers on available job opportunities, training programs, and other services Refer individuals to appropriate services, training programs, or job opportunities and follow up on those activities Conduct orientation sessions, workshops, job clubs, and other group presentations for career seekers Work in a dynamic team environment – must have excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills Follow all policies, procedures, and regulations related to eligibility documentation Maintain accurate individual case files for each registered customer ensuring compliance with all eligibility document requirements Meet and/or exceed program benchmarks Participate in all staff‑related events as required including but not limited to training and team meetings Complete all required reports within the data management system Approach each day and task with a solutions‑oriented and responsive mindset Location: This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or higher or an equivalent combination of education and experience Strong communication skills and knowledge about community resources Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to make well‑thought‑out decisions Must be computer literate and have MS Word and Excel skills at minimum, and the ability to learn specialized databases and software systems Ability to work in a variety of settings with a culturally diverse customer base and be culturally sensitive Ability to motivate career seekers toward achieving goals Strong business acumen Meet and exceed set goals and objectives Excellent interpersonal, time‑management, customer‑service, organizational, and communication skills, both oral and written Knowledgeable about the WIOA program and other workforce program requirements Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment while remaining flexible, proactive, resourceful, and efficient in maintaining a high level of confidentiality Exceptional time‑management skills to meet deadlines and work under pressure A valid driver’s license Additional Skills/Knowledge Career Team Would Love for This Role Master’s or MBA degree Knowledgeable about the local region and relevant partners Multilingual or bilingual Travel Travel for this role is primarily limited to necessary trips within Snohomish County to support career seekers.
