Janitor

JOB SUMMARY With supervision and direction of the Training & Licensing Manager, the Janitor will clean the main Ketchikan Office. DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Empty trash cans and replace trash liners in assigned common areas and restrooms; Clean restrooms – spray and wipe down sink areas including the wall area underneath and around the toilet, sweep and mop the floors in the restrooms, kitchen/kitchenette floors; Vacuum and/or mop conference room, lobby, front desk area, copy room, playrooms, stairways, landings, entry rugs, elevator and hallway areas; Dust window ledges in common areas; Clean interior windows and door glass as needed. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES Ability to follow a time schedule for work; Ability to maintain positive relations with staff, customers and their families; Ability to adhere to confidentiality at all times; Ability to complete a time sheet to document hours worked. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Experience in janitorial duties PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT The work requires routine walking, standing, bending, and carrying items. Must be able to physically perform work that requires stretching, lifting, flexibility and stamina. Must possess strength to lift and carry materials weighing up to 20 pounds.
