Manufacturing WelderFieldBridge is looking for a Manufacturing Welder in Katy, TX to work for the world's largest oilfield services company. We offer weekly pay + benefits.Pay/Schedule: $22 - $32/hour (depending on experience; upper range reserved for candidates with downhole drill bit brazing experience) | Monday - Friday, 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM | Occasional overtime and Saturday work | Weekly pay every Friday. At $32/hr and 50 hrs/week, for example, earn weekly paychecks of $1,760 gross.Position OverviewWe are seeking a skilled Manufacturing Brazer and Welder to perform precision brazing and welding operations in the production of downhole drill bits at the Katy, TX manufacturing facility. In this role, you will use acetylene torches and induction heating units to braze polycrystalline diamond cutters into steel and tungsten carbide drill bit bodies — a highly precise and quality-critical operation that directly determines the performance and reliability of the finished product deployed in oil and gas drilling applications worldwide. Entry-level welding candidates will be considered and trained; candidates with prior downhole drill bit brazing experience will command the upper end of the pay range. All PPE and work tools are provided. Respiratory protection required for portions of the role. Phone screen followed by in-person interview.Key ResponsibilitiesUtilize acetylene torches and induction heating units to braze polycrystalline diamond cutters into steel and tungsten carbide drill bit bodies to specificationClamp, hold, tack-weld, heat-bend, and grind component parts as required during drill bit productionDetect faulty equipment operation and examine finished work for defects to maintain quality standardsOperate hand tools, grinders, and power tools common to the welding and brazing tradeApply continuous improvement principles using Manufacturing System tools and collaborate effectively in a team-based production environmentRequired QualificationsHigh school diploma or GED preferredExperience with welding processes, preferably Gas Metal Arc Welding preferredAbility to use hand tools, grinders, and related manufacturing equipmentPrior brazing experience in oilfield or downhole drilling tool production strongly preferred; candidates with this background command the upper pay rangeWelding certification from a vocational or technical program such as Lincoln Tech or UTI preferred but not requiredBasic computer skills including email, spreadsheet access, data entry, and timekeeping systemsSAP or similar ERP system experience preferredStrong attention to detail, reliability, and safety awarenessMust be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the futureVEVRAA Federal Contractor.
