Role Overview Performs clinical duties as a Medical Laboratory Scientist in a high-complexity laboratory and educates medical laboratory science students. The role balances clinical and teaching responsibilities, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. Key Responsibilities Execute all duties and competency expectations of a medical laboratory scientist. Collaborate with the education team to develop and deliver MLS educational content. Maintain confidentiality of student and patient information. Identify, troubleshoot, resolve, and report laboratory issues. Engage in continuous quality improvement and ongoing education. Participate in interdepartmental teamwork to optimize workflows. Model professional, service-oriented behaviors and scholarly activity. Serve on educational or departmental committees and support workforce development efforts. Qualifications & Skills Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field from an accredited institution. Certifications such as ASCP/NAACLS or equivalent, with experience in medical technology or laboratory science. For adjunct roles, extensive laboratory experience and certifications with teaching experience are acceptable alternatives. Strong communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.
