Job Overview Join Primoris Heavy Civil and serve as a Bilingual HSE Field Specialist in the Belton, TX Division office. This role focuses on fostering a proactive safety culture across road, bridge, and highway construction projects. Responsibilities Work closely with operations, supervisors, and craft personnel to promote safety awareness and accountability. Assist the Division Safety Manager in maintaining and advancing a safety program consistent with company standards and regulatory requirements, including pre‑job planning and evaluating field performance. Monitor compliance, issue periodic reports, and develop action plans to improve results. Participate in creating and delivering safety training, personnel development, and crew engagement initiatives. Maintain first aid kits, firefighting equipment, evacuation systems, and safety signage. Post hazard warnings, ensure crews are trained in safe procedures, and coordinate weekly safety meetings and specialized reviews. Conduct new hire safety orientations and refresher sessions. Promote safety awareness through posters, campaigns, and crew talks. Prepare monthly safety reports and review results with project leadership. Support accident investigations and insurance documentation in coordination with Risk Management and insurers. Perform additional duties as directed by supervision and apply sound judgment within safety standards. Travel to field locations as needed and communicate effectively with crews, supervisors, and leadership. Functional Requirements Take part in project planning to create safe and productive work environments. Maintain and document compliance with regulations, track and manage PPE and safety supply inventories. Collaborate with supervisors to identify project‑specific safety needs. Work effectively as part of a team and support others. Qualification Standards 3 years of safety experience in heavy civil, road, bridge, or highway construction. Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is a plus. Strong computer skills; ability to prepare investigations and reports. Complete required pre‑employment testing and new hire orientation quizzes. Pass drug/alcohol screening and physical evaluation. Meet all client safety requirements including PPE and grooming standards. Physical Requirements Comply with company drug and alcohol policy; pass required physical exams. Climb ladders, scaffolds, and work at heights; use sturdy footwear. Stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and work in confined spaces. Lift and carry up to 50 lbs.; request help for heavier loads. Stand or walk for extended periods on uneven ground; work extended hours in outdoor conditions. Wear respirators or other PPE as required. Work Environment Construction sites and training environments. Uneven ground, obstructed paths; work at elevation and confined spaces. Exposure to outdoor elements, heavy equipment, noise, and potential chemical hazards.
