RN - Emergency DepartmentThis position is for an RN in the Emergency Department. The facility has 874 licensed beds and is a Level I Trauma center. It serves as a teaching hospital with designations for Chest Pain and Stroke Centers. The department comprises 43 ED beds and 20 boarding beds. Travelers will primarily be hired as Med/Tele RNs to cover ED Holds. Patient types and common diagnoses include trauma, GSW, stabbing, MVA, falls, stroke, heart failure, chest pain, patients requiring fluid resuscitation or blood products, COPD, and various infections. The nurse-to-patient ratio is a maximum of 1:5, depending on acuity, with CNA support. Support services available include a charge nurse, phlebotomy, respiratory therapy, hospitalists, and intensivists, all available 24/7. The Electronic Medical Record system used is EPIC, with Alaris for IV pumps and Omnicell for medication dispensing. Floating will be required based on regional needs within the scope of practice. Travelers can expect to work 75% of holidays and can have up to 6 days off, excluding holidays, with time added to the end of the contract if hours are not met.
