Lab tech 1 Full Time Non Exempt Manual Labor San Marcos, CA, US 3 days ago Requisition ID: 2166 Salary Range: $18.00 To $19.50 Hourly About the Position We are seeking a motivated and detail‑oriented individual to join our laboratory production team. This role involves plant micro‑propagation in a controlled lab environment using sterilization techniques and following established production procedures. Responsibilities Follow daily work instructions Plant and multiply cuttings in production blocks Root Stage III cuttings in containers (tubs) Maintain proper sterilization techniques Meet daily and weekly planting quotas Learn and rotate through all production‑area positions Monitor and evaluate plants for diseases such as mold Perform cleaning and general maintenance in production areas Assist in other departments as needed Complete tasks according to training and manager direction Required Skills & Abilities Strong attention to detail Ability to follow instructions and safety procedures Problem‑solving skills and timely response to requests Ability to meet production goals Commitment to quality and accuracy Ability to lift up to 25 lbs, bend, reach, and sit for extended periods Ability to use personal protective equipment (PPE) Qualifications Ability to read and interpret safety rules, SDS sheets, chemical labels, and procedure manuals Ability to write simple instructions and communicate effectively Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication) Ability to work scheduled shifts, including weekends if required Additional Information This position does not include supervisory responsibilities.
