Caf Cashier

The Caf Cashier is responsible for providing excellent customer service, handling cashiering duties, maintaining a clean cafeteria environment, and ensuring supplies are well-stocked. This role is essential in delivering a positive dining experience for customers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Process customer purchases, handle cash transactions, and reconcile the register at the end of shifts.
• Stock and replenish cafeteria items (e.g., coffee, cooler items, salad bar supplies) according to department standards.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of dining areas, servery, tray return areas, and cafeteria equipment.
• Prepare and break down catering orders as needed.
• Uphold HACCP and cash handling standards.
• Address customer needs and resolve issues with a friendly and positive attitude.
• Report concerns, discrepancies, or shortages to the supervisor.
• Actively contribute to achieving department goals for customer satisfaction.
• Attend meetings, training, and in-services as assigned.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to multitask and maintain a clean, organized environment.
• Basic math skills and cash handling experience preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

- Staff adheres to all I C.A.R.E. Standards.

- Must be able to read menu items in English.

- Must be able to communicate in English with customers.

- Must have basic arithmetic skills: ability to count cash, make change, add/subtract.

- Must be able to use a calculator.

- Independent judgment required.

- Must be able to juggle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
