Senior Manager of Supplier Financial Governance

This is an opportunity to build and enhance Hub International's Supplier Financial Governance/ Technology Vendor Management discipline. The person in this role will drive the end-to-end lifecycle for technology agreements outside of Procurement's managed portfolio, serving as the connective tissue between TechOps teams who own the vendor relationship, TBM Planning who owns the budget, and Procurement who brings commercial negotiation expertise. The right person is equally comfortable negotiating contract terms with a vendor, building a vendor profile, and walking a Technology & Operations leader through the budget impact of an upcoming renewal. This role requires someone who can operate in ambiguity, enhance current processes, build new processes, and establish credibility quickly across a complex, matrixed organization. In This Role, You'll Get To: Build and maintain a comprehensive supplier repository covering all technology agreements, including contract metadata, renewal dates, spend data, and vendor tiering. Proactively flag renewals months in advance, creating a proactive, disciplined, forward-looking renewal management process. Evaluate every renewal against the technology roadmap and strategic priorities before commitment is made, preventing misaligned multi-year lock-ins. Own the full intake-to-close process for technology agreements: identify upcoming renewals, engage TechOps stakeholders, gather requirements and pricing, validate budget and GL/profit center coding, secure approvals per the authorization matrix, and close out agreements. Vendor Negotiations and Commercial Terms For agreements not actively managed by Procurement, own vendor negotiations end-to-end, including pricing discussions, right-sizing license counts, and securing favorable commercial terms. Ensure all agreements include standard procurement protections: inflation caps, appropriate contract term lengths, termination rights, SLA commitments, and price escalation guardrails. Coordinate NDA execution, third-party risk assessments, and legal review for new vendors and material agreement changes. Partner with Procurement on agreements they are actively leading, providing TBM financial context, budget validation, and spend forecasting to support their negotiation efforts. Adopt and align to Procurement best practices for commercial terms, negotiation playbooks, and vendor engagement protocols. Budget Partnership and Financial Integration Work closely with the TBM Planning team to validate budget availability, confirm GL and profit center coding, and align agreement pricing to the current budget and forecast before commitments are made. Provide TBM Planning with forward-looking renewal intelligence so that upcoming vendor commitments are reflected in budget planning cycles and forecast submissions. Give senior leadership budget visibility ahead of vendor commitments so they can assess financial impact, weigh tradeoffs, and make informed investment decisions. Vendor Profile and Platform Management Partner with the TBM Platform team to build and maintain vendor profiles in Apptio, including budget allocations, forecast data, vendor tiering, service descriptions, and contract metadata. Ensure vendor data in Apptio is accurate, current, and supports the cost transparency reporting that leadership relies on. Upload executed contracts and supporting documentation to LinkSquares as the centralized contract repository. Governance and Process Development Define and document the supplier financial governance playbook for Hub, including intake workflows, approval matrices, escalation paths, and standard operating procedures. Establish a structured cadence for renewal reviews, vendor performance check-ins, and portfolio-level reporting to leadership. Build trusted relationships across TechOps, Procurement, Legal, and Finance to establish this function as a valued, embedded partner rather than a compliance checkpoint. We Are Looking for Someone with the Following Competencies: Supplier Governance and Vendor Lifecycle Management deep understanding of how to manage a technology vendor portfolio at scale, including contract administration, renewal management, vendor tiering, and portfolio-level reporting Commercial Negotiation demonstrated ability to negotiate SaaS agreements, professional services SOWs, and infrastructure contracts; fluency in pricing structures, inflation protections, auto-renewal provisions, and termination rights IT Financial Acumen solid grasp of budgeting, forecasting, and GL/profit center coding; ability to assess vendor spend data, identify cost optimization opportunities, and communicate financial impact to leadership Process Design and Build track record of standing up new functions or disciplines, including the ability to define workflows, document procedures, and drive adoption across a complex organization Cross-Functional Partnership skilled at building working relationships with Technology, Finance, Procurement, and Legal stakeholders; able to influence without authority and navigate a matrixed environment Platform and Tool Proficiency working knowledge of contract lifecycle management platforms, ERP systems, and familiarity with vendor management tools; Apptio, LinkSquares, and Oracle experience preferred Required Experience: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Information Systems, or a related field required. 7+ years of experience in IT vendor management, technology procurement, supplier governance, or technology financial management. Demonstrated experience negotiating technology contracts, including SaaS agreements, professional services SOWs, and infrastructure contracts. Strong understanding of commercial contract terms: pricing structures, inflation protections, auto-renewal clauses, termination rights, and SLA frameworks. Experience working with ERP systems (Oracle preferred) for vendor master setup and invoice processing workflows. Working knowledge of contract repository platforms such as LinkSquares or equivalent. Ability to partner cross-functionally across Technology, Finance, Procurement, and Legal with minimal supervision. Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess vendor spend data, identify cost optimization opportunities, and communicate financial impact to leadership. Comfort operating in ambiguity and building processes from scratch in a discipline that is new to the organization. Preferred: Experience with TBM frameworks, Apptio, or IT financial management platforms. Background in insurance, financial services, or similarly regulated industries. Familiarity with third-party risk management processes and vendor security assessment workflows. Experience standing up a vendor management or supplier governance function from the ground up. The expected salary range for this position is $ 130,000 to $175,000 and will be impacted by factors such as the successful candidate’s skills, experience and working location, as well as the specific position’s business line, scope and level.
