Logistics Coordinator / Shipping Specialist

Sirius Staffing is seeking a detail-oriented Logistics Coordinator / Shipping Specialist to support domestic and international shipping operations in a fast-paced distribution environment. This role is responsible for processing customer orders, coordinating shipments, preparing shipping documentation, and serving as a liaison between customers, freight forwarders, and transportation providers. The ideal candidate will have experience in logistics, warehousing, or supply chain operations and possess strong organizational and communication skills.

Location: St. Louis, MO

Schedule: MondayFriday, 8:00 AM 4:30 PM

Pay Rate: $25.00/hr

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate domestic and international shipments to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery.
• Prepare and process shipping documentation, booking requests, and transportation records.
• Work closely with freight forwarders, brokers, carriers, and customers to manage shipment activity.
• Track shipments and resolve issues related to delayed, lost, or damaged freight.
• Process customer orders and ensure accurate routing in accordance with transportation requirements.
• Maintain electronic and paper records related to shipping and logistics activities.
• Manage inventory and office/warehouse supply replenishment as needed.
• Support continuous improvement efforts related to shipping efficiency and customer service.
• Communicate effectively with internal teams and external partners regarding shipment status and logistics concerns.
• Follow all company safety policies and Good Distribution Practices (GDP).

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
• 2+ years of experience in logistics, warehousing, supply chain, shipping, or distribution operations preferred.
• Experience coordinating domestic and international shipments.
• Familiarity with freight forwarding, transportation documentation, and shipment tracking.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
• Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with hazardous material shipping regulations (DOT, IATA, IMDG) preferred.
• Hazardous material shipping certification is a plus.
• Experience working in chemical, manufacturing, or distribution environments.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and lift up to 60 lbs. as needed.
• Ability to work in a warehouse/distribution environment and wear required PPE when necessary.
