Maintenance Tech 1

Summary Installs, maintains, and repairs machinery, equipment, physical structures, pipes, electrical and electronic systems in commercial or industrial establishments by performing the following duties. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Inspect and test machinery and equipment as required to ensure proper function. Diagnose and repair electromechanical equipment; experience with hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, electronic, PLC integration. Use MaintMizer to open, close work orders, and document repairs. Dismantle defective machines and install new or repaired parts. Clean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery. Replace and repair electrical apparatus such as transformers, wiring, and electronic components. Read blueprints, electrical or hydraulic schematics and other technical materials. Lay out, assemble, install, and maintain pipe systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment; repair and replace gauges, valves, pressure regulators, and related equipment. Repair and maintain physical structure of establishment. Install, program, or repair automated machinery and equipment and programmable controllers. Operate machine tools such as lathe, grinder, drill, and milling machine to repair or fabricate machine parts, jigs and fixtures, and tools. Operate cutting torch or welding equipment to cut or join metal parts. Diagnose malfunctioning apparatus such as transformers, motors, and light fixtures; replace damaged or broken wires and cables. Diagnose and replace faulty mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components of machines and equipment. Initiate purchase orders for parts and machines. Log time and materials allocations to ensure accurate records. Design and fabricate machine and equipment modifications as needed to achieve customer satisfaction. Recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance and quality of product. Ensure adherence to ISO 14001 policies, procedures and instructions. Qualifications Associate degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a 2‑year college or technical school in maintenance or a related field. Six years of technical experience in industrial maintenance or equivalent combination of education and experience in a manufacturing environment. Mastery of at least four (4) of the essential maintenance skills. Able to follow both written and verbal instruction.
