Floor HandThe Floor Hand is part of a 4-5 person workover rig crew and assists with well service operations for Axis Energy Services customers. Primary responsibilities include rigging up and down; pulling and laying down rods, tubing, and casing; operating rod wrenches, tongs, elevators, and other rig tools and equipment; and performing other duties as directed by the Rig Supervisor or other designated individual. All duties must be performed safely, consistently, and in accordance with company procedures and customer expectations.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesAssists the operator in rigging up and down, lining up the well service rig with the well.Sets hydraulic jacks, handles pads/boards and assists in attaching the guy wires to the anchor.Operates rod wrenches, tongs, elevators, and other associated rig tools and equipment during well servicingAssists in picking up or laying down tubing, manually lifting the tubing from the rack onto the work floor.Maintains tubing, rod tongs and hand tools on the rig.Dismantles and repairs oil field machinery using hand tools and power tools.Cleans up spills.Keeps pipe deck and main deck areas orderly.Reports any safety hazards, incidents or maintenance issues to the Rig Supervisor.Ensures that work carried out is in compliance with company policies and procedures and according to safety regulations.Ability to climb ladders and stairs as required to access rig equipment, work areas, and other job-related locations.Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. individually; loads over 50 lbs. require a two-person lift or mechanical assistance.Position requires 12-hour shifts and the ability to stand, walk, sit, kneel, bend, and perform other physical activities necessary to support rig operations.Performs other related duties as assigned.Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)High school diploma, GED, or the equivalent is preferred.Basic oilfield well servicing experience;A minimum of one (1) year rig floor operation experience.Valid state issued driver license with acceptable motor vehicle records (MVR).Ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and written in English.Must be able to work a varied rotational schedule and travel as job requires.Work may be performed in all weather conditions.Mobility, including entering confined spaces, enter areas by the use of ladders or other access devices; ability to bend, stoop, twist, stand, squat, crawl and walk.Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. individually. Loads over 50 lbs. require a two-person lift or mechanical assistance in accordance with company lifting policy.Long periods of standing, squatting, kneeling, reaching or similar activities may be necessaryAble to perform duties with protective equipment, H2S respirator where required; potential hazards include working near or with heavy tools and moving machineryAbility to interact with others in a team environment.Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks at once.Basic problem solving and organizational skills.Reliable telephone (cell phone) communication and transportation.Able to clear pre-employment drug/alcohol and job-relevant screensPhysical Demands and Work EnvironmentThe physical demands described here are representative of those required to perform the essential functions of this position. In accordance with company lifting policy, loads over 50 lbs. require a two-person lift or mechanical assistance.Work 12-hour shifts with posture requirements of approximately 8.0 hours standing, 1.0 hour sitting, and 3.0 hours walking per shift.Climb ladders and perform frequent kneeling, bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, and handling of rig tools and equipment.Work outdoors in all weather conditions and in oil and gas wellsite environments, including exposure to temperature extremes, high noise levels, heavy tools, moving machinery, and other field hazards.Wear required PPE and use an H2S respirator where required in hazardous areas.Maintain adequate vision, hearing, mobility, and communication ability to safely perform work in hazardous field environments.
