Pharmacy Technician II

Key Responsibilities:

• Rotate through all work areas of the pharmacy.
• Prepare medications and supplies for dispensing, including sterile preparations.
• Fill Pyxis machines and run reports as needed.
• Expedite the processing of prescriptions by performing all duties necessary and allowable by policy or law.
• Assist pharmacists with tasks associated with preparation of medications for patients prior to their hospital discharge.
• Communicate with third party providers to determine eligibility and obtain prior authorization.
• Maintain the prescription area in an orderly and sanitary manner.
• Assist with patient medication history, maintaining patient medication profiles and records.
• Answer the telephone and requests at the counter or window.
• Performs other duties as assigned to support overall effectiveness of department and organization.

Qualifications:

Education: High school or GED Equivalent or Pharmacy technician associate degree

Experience: N /A

Certification: PTCB National Technician Certification

License: AZ Board of Pharmacy, Technician License
