Site: The Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Inc., 75 Francis Street. Job Summary A $750.00 sign‑on bonus is offered to eligible new employees hired in PCA positions. The role assists patients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, eating, and basic hygiene tasks, while also monitoring vital signs and documenting care in the medical record. Responsibilities Performs vital signs, weights/heights, intakes, and outputs accurately and within established time frames. Completes all required documentation in the medical record. Interacts effectively with patients and their families. Assists patients with bathing, dressing, toileting, feeding, repositioning in bed, and transfer to wheelchair. Listens to patient health concerns and reports them to nursing staff. Qualifications Education High School Diploma or equivalent preferred. Experience cannot be substituted for a degree. Licenses & Certifications Basic Life Support (BLS) – Generic – Preferred. Certified Medical Assistant (National Certification) – Preferred. Nursing Assistant/Patient Care Technician (National Certification) – Preferred. Experience 0–1 year of experience working in patient or elder care preferred. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions. Knowledge of medical terminology. Strong patient/customer service skills. Ability to lift up to 35 pounds. Proficient computer skills for efficient use of electronic medical records.
